People all over the world suffer allergic reactions to a number of different things. Be it food, grass, or animals, the symptoms are usually very similar. This is a real shame for pet lovers. It's quite unfair that they have to put up with these uncomfortable symptoms whenever they're around an animal. Luckily for us, there are numerous pet allergy medications available to help alleviate most of these symptoms. Here are a few of the more common symptoms to look for if you think you may suffer from pet allergies.
The most common one is itchy eyes. This sneaks up on people but once it's happening, it takes a while for it to subside. Children, in particular, get into the habit of rubbing their itchy eyes to deal with the discomfort. This is usually after they've been playing with the cat or dog as well. The rubbing obviously does nothing to alleviate the pain and even makes it worse. Once way to deal with this symptom is take a couple of Claritin's before you start playing with your animal. If your eyes start to hurt, it's already to late to take the pill.
The next thing that usually happens is sneezing. This is typical of a hay fever type sneeze. It's not overly painful but can be a bit of a nuisance. Get your self some Kleenex to deal with this one!
The final, and probably most painful, symptom of pet allergies is the rash. The most common type as a result of a pet allergy is the Nettle rash. It's typical of similar rashes in that it's itchy, red, and generally annoying. If one gets scratched by a cat, a nettle rash is very likely to arise.
